Visit to PFA(People For Animals)
As a part of study trip, Our Elementary Montessori children visited People For Animals (PFA) wildlife hospital. PFA is an organization where they rescue, rehab and release the wild animals to their own habitat. They even have a pet cemetery to provide burial services for pets.
Upon reaching the PFA, our children were shown power point presentation about the facility and services offered to the animals. Then the children were taken around the campus by the volunteers and elaborated in depth how the wild animals like monkeys, kites, parakeets, owls e.t.c were rescued and treated in their facility.
While moving around the campus children were asked to maintain absolute silence to enable them hear and look for different birds’ chirps. The children were excited to see those animals and volunteers were very forthcoming in clearing all the queries raised by our children.
Before we embarked on journey back home children were given tips to identify if any wild animal is in need of human interference. To sum it up we were provided with animal rescue helpline numbers.
All our children so inspired with the way the day progressed for them and they even took an oath to protect the wildlife.
