The Thinking Day was celebrated on 22nd February 2018 by the Scouts and Guides.
This day was chosen as it was the birthday of Scouting and Guiding founder Lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, his wife, and world chief Guide.
The theme of the event was to “Think” about people in all the countries of the World, the meaning of Scouting and Guiding, and its global impact.
In the unique celebration, Students of Scouts and Guides started the programme through a prayer and lighting the candles.
The Co-ordinator of Scouts and Guides Mrs.Bharathi hosted the programme.
Mrs.Asha.S, Cub Master said: Ïts very important to think about our ‘Brothers and Sister’ in all the countries of the world, and through a unique value based non-formal education approach. Scouting and Guiding create empowering youth learning experiences”.
Mrs.Sharada, Scout Master inspired about the impact of students; Thinking Day on oneself and on society. She said, “This is an opportunity to study and appreciate cultures and equally increase awareness and sensitivity to global concern”.
Mohit Chowhan, Troop leader, and Keerthana, Company leader organised many activities, including ‘Float and sink’ activity for Cubs and Bulbuls and ‘Neighbourhood Rally’on observation for Scouts and Guides.
It was a new learning day for all. Students learned new things about the Scouts and Guides movement, individual students responsibility, discipline, and dedication.
Students also learned the dream of Baden Powell and his wife, the ways of commitment towards work to fulfill the ‘Dream’.
The event ended by distributing cakes to all the students and faculty.
It was really a thoughtful day………
