SCOUTS AND GUIDES UNIT

The scouts and guides unit was introduced in Atreya Vidyaniketan in the year 2010, under the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Bengaluru North district association with the name “Atreya Vidyniketan Scouts and Guides unit.”

The main purpose of Scouts and Guides is to develop skills to lead an independent life with courage and moral values.

Scouts and Guides classes are conducted every Friday. The programme is well planned by the teachers as per the guidelines of Bharath Scouts and Guides. An array of activities are included like handicrafts, clay modelling, first aid, compass reading, knots, cooking etc. These activities help to develop habits of personal cleanliness and manners, to be courteous and to cultivate social virtues which makes each child to develop physically, mentally, socially, morally and intellectually.

Age criteria

  • Bunnies: 3–6 years
  • Cubs and Bulbuls: 6–10 years
  • Scouts and Guides: 10–15 years

Atreya Vidyaniketan Unit is proud to have the distinction of

  • 12 trained unit leaders
  • 72 Rajya Puraskar awards presented by the Governor (scouts)
  • 72 Rajya Puraskar awards presented by the Governor/Patron of the state association. (Guides)
  • 25 Rashtrapathi awards received from the President of India.
